💡 Preparation Tips for IOE 2082/83
Strategic advice to maximize your entrance exam score
01
Mathematics carries the most weight (50 marks) — Focus on Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Trigonometry, and Algebra. Solve at least 20 IOE past questions per chapter.
02
Physics is equally critical (40 marks) — Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism, and Modern Physics are highest-yield. Conceptual clarity matters more than memorization.
03
Don't neglect Chemistry & English (30+20 marks) — Together 50 marks! Score near-full here to pull your rank significantly higher.
04
Solve 10+ years of past IOE questions — The question pattern repeats significantly. Past questions from 2074–2082 are your best preparation resource.
05
Section B (2-mark questions) is where ranks are decided — 40 questions × 2 marks = 80 marks. Prioritize accuracy on these over Section A.
06
Time management in CBT — Allocate: 55 min Maths, 45 min Physics, 12 min Chemistry, 8 min English. Practice on a computer screen — not paper only.
07
Target score benchmarks — Pulchowk CE: aim 115+. Pulchowk Civil: 95+. WRC/Thapathali CE: 90+. Regional campuses accessible at 70–80+.
